1) Τα χαρακτηριστικά μίας οθόνης OLED ενδέχεται να μεταβληθούν έπειτα από μεγάλες περιόδους χρήσης, προκαλώντας αντιληπτές αλλαγές. Πρόκειται για κάτι πλήρως φυσιολογικό που ενδέχεται οδηγήσει στην προβολή μίας ολόκληρης εικόνας ή υπολειμμάτων της, ακόμα κι όταν μία νέα εικόνα εμφανιστεί στην οθόνη (burn-in). Το φαινόμενο αυτό παρατηρείται κυρίως όταν μία στατική εικόνα υψηλής αντίθεσης προβάλλεται αδιάκοπα στην οθόνη για μεγάλα διαστήματα. Τα laptop ASUS με οθόνη OLED ελαχιστοποιούν το ρίσκο αυτό θέτοντας τη σκοτεινή λειτουργία (dark mode) των Windows ως προεπιλεγμένη και ελαχιστοποιώντας τον χρόνο αδράνειας για την απενεργοποίηση της οθόνης (τόσο στη μπαταρία, όσο και σε σύνδεση σε πηγή ενέργειας). Η προσέγγιση αυτή ελαχιστοποιεί τις πιθανότητες burn-in και μεγιστοποιεί τον κύκλο ζωής της οθόνης OLED, μειώνοντας παράλληλα την κατανάλωση ενέργειας για καλύτερη διάρκεια μπαταρίας. Συνιστούμε να προσαρμόσετε τη φωτεινότητα της οθόνης OLED βάσει των συνθηκών του περιβάλλοντός σας αντί να διατηρείτε τη μέγιστη ρύθμιση σταθερά.
